ARC began in 1988 as Ford Graphics, a $9 million Los Angeles-based reprographics company, acquired and managed by our two founders, S. “Mohan” Chandramohan, and our current Chairman, President and CEO, K. “Suri” Suriyakumar.

In less than 10 years, the company acquired four additional reprographics firms, posting consolidated revenues of $101 million. From that point, ARC began what would become an unprecedented and unrivaled period of growth in the history of the reprographics industry.

In 1999, recognizing the critical need for applied technology in the industry, Mr. Suriyakumar began laying the groundwork for industry-specific internet and software applications, as well as e-commerce-based business models.

By 2003, the company was licensing several industry-standard applications, including its flagship online planroom product, PlanWell Enterprise™. It also launched a trade association to help spread the use of technology to the industry outside of ARC, and to act as a more independent advocate of the industry as a whole.

In February, 2005, American Reprographics made its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange trading under the ticker “ARC.”

In response to a massive shift in technology and business processes occurring within the architectural, engineering and construction industry, ARC has transformed its original business to become the premier document solutions company of its kind in the world. It offers cloud-based applications, a variety of digital hardware, and long list of professional services in managed print services (MPS), archiving and information management services (AIM), and construction document and information management (CDIM). The Company’s clients include the largest architectural, engineering and construction companies in the world, while still offering outstanding local services in more than 40 of the top 50 major metropolitan cities in the U.S., as well as locations in Europe and Asia.
