Challenge: Construction firm Centre Leasehold needed a simple and fast way to handle its construction documents.
Solution: Centre Leasehold used SKYSITE ProjectLink, the construction drawing management app, to gain immediate access to multiple construction projects from their desktops and mobile devices.
Result: CLi now manages projects electronically and use this digital workflow as a selling point to acquire new business.
Ontario-based construction firm Centre Leasehold needed a better way to handle construction documents for its many projects. Project manager Mike Passy was specifically looking for a way to quickly and easily pull up construction documents on both mobile and desktop devices.
So when Passy witnessed ARC sales rep Maria Trisi remotely pull up illustrations for the contractor’s signage work, he had to learn more. It’s then that Trisi introduced Passy to SKYSITE ProjectLink, a construction app built for drawing management on mobile and desktop devices.
Immediate Access to Construction Docs
“Maria had some discussions with us, and she suggested we manage our construction drawings through SKYSITE,” Passy said.
Centre Leasehold need for immediate access to construction drawings for multiple projects made SKYSITE ProjectLink an appealing solution. The company’s leaders quickly saw the effectiveness of the technology and are now using SKYSITE ProjectLink for all of the firm’s projects.
Less Money, Time, and Hassle
The new project management tool has saved a lot of time and money for the construction management firm. Employees experience these savings everyday through the elimination of busy work.
“Previously, I always had to make trips back to the office, often two or three times a week, and a road trip could be 100 kilometers. That’s a lot of traveling—but that’s not counting the fact that you are not able to be onsite when you have to be in the office,” Passy said. “To do my work effectively, I have to do as much as I can onsite.”
Road-tripping back to the office to check drawings is history.
“I can manage multiple projects, while at one site,” Passy said.
New Tool, New Business
Having SKYSITE in the company’s toolbox has become another way to attract new business.
“The nature of the business is changing; we’re managing jobs electronically, and we’re online a lot more,” Passy said. “For us, SKYSITE ProjectLinK is a selling feature, because it’s the way clients prefer to work.”
Not only has SKYSITE made it easier for Centre Leasehold’s employees to easily access, share, and update construction documents, SKYSITE also has helped the firm’s employees help each other.
Having several project managers, Centre Leasehold needs to ensure they all are on the same page at all times. If one or another calls in sick, others must be able to pick up the slack. By being able to remotely view documents for fellow manager’s projects, project managers now can fill in for each other much more easily, Passy said.
