BSA & Camp Ho Mita Koda: Eagle Scout Project for local diabetes summer camp, Camp Ho Mita Koda
Frank Loughan, VP, Revenue Ops & Assistant Scoutmaster, 9 years
Boy Scouts of America’s Oath is: “On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my Country, to help other people at all times and to obey the scout law. To keep myself Physically Strong, Mentally Awake and Morally Straight.”
In this project, the Scouts are focused on “helping other people” by building new archery stands at a local Diabetes summer camp (Camp Ho Mita Koda) as part of my son’s (Thomas) Eagle Scout Project.
This project is both rewarding to the campers who will use the targets all summer long, and to Thomas, whose younger brother CJ (also a Scout in the troop) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year and attended the camp last summer.
The ACEP program offered by ARC will help fund the supplies and new archery targets.
